Vendors & Venues - my faves:

The following vendors are those that I've come across that I feel do exceptional, standout work.  I have no association with any of these companies, and in fact they most likely are not even aware that I recommend them.  I simply put them here in case you're interested in getting some recommendations from someone who has been to a LOT of weddings...

Photography:

Grant Horiuchi is by far the most fun and energetic photographer I've seen.  Plus he stayed all the way to the end of an 8-hour wedding, which is unheard of.

Venues (Outdoor):

One of most romantic places for an outdoor ceremony - you are literally a few feet from the shore of Lake Washington, and you and your guests are looking out over the water as you say your vows.  Very nice tent for shade.

Awesome, huge tent overlooking the driving range for the reception, indoor banquet room for the dinner.  Great food too!  Maybe not as nice of a place for the ceremony, but definitely one to check out.

Venues (Seattle local):

There are a couple of cool venues in Georgetown:

The Georgetown Ballroom has a couple of large rooms and a fantastic sound system your DJ will love!

Georgetown Stables - smaller, but has kitschy cool down to an art.

Downtown Seattle

The Arctic Club definitely has that 'wow' factor.  Parking is difficult/expensive, since it's on the edge of downtown.

Wedding Officiant:

It's funny that I'm recommending Kent because he kind of annoyed me with all of the questions he was asking me before the ceremony I did with him ("Do you have fresh batteries?", etc.)  But basically he was trying to make sure everything was prepared.  And he has the voice and demeanor of a caring but professional officiant.  So he's at the top of the list of people I'd recommend to anyone getting married.

Wedding Coordinators:

http://www.manettegracie.com/

Lauren Guy at Manette Gracie is the both the nicest and hardest-working coordinator I've ever worked with...and the only one I've ever seen stay until the end of the evening (usually the coordinator leaves after all the events have taken place).

Lilia Conner at Your Day Coordinating is another exceptional coordinator.  She handled a complex wedding with grace and skill, and stayed to the end as well.  She can be reached at: yourdaycoordinating@gmail.com
